The Albert Bandura quote nicely sums up my perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are who we are.\nBut we\u2019re influenced by our environment, and the ever-increasing speed of\nchange is putting pressure on our mental coping abilities. A global working\nenvironment driving changes in technology, social support, skills requirement, culture\nand leadership practice, can give a feeling of being overwhelmed or losing\ncontrol (familiar?). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than pulling out \u201cthe plug\u201d (wireless, obviously) here\u2019s an alternative: To <strong>own<\/strong> your personal world with all its opportunities and challenges, not succumb to become collateral damage. To do that you need to really feel like the owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And to change how\nwe <strong>feel, <\/strong>we need to regulate what we <strong>think<\/strong>. This thinking skill,\nlike any skill, can be trained. &nbsp;Develop\nyour own training program (resources are everywhere, go google!) or work with\nsomeone you trust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cTo the extent that people can regulate what they think, they can influence how they feel and behave\u201d.
